The Aeromarine GADSS ELT-DT - Emergency Locator Transmitter with Distress Tracking is the next generation of ELT with possibility to be automatically activated when situations other than an impact with the ground occur. 

The ELT-DT can be activated by ground operator in emergency cases, which allows to track the commercial aircraft and send notification of distress to the relevant authorities. The feature is provided through Return Link Service of Galileo system that allows information to be sent to the ELT (DT).

The ELD-DT has a programmable ability to detect distress events in flight and autonomously send a Cospas-Sarsart Distress Signal with accurate position of aircraft provided by built-in multi-GNSS receiver.

The aircraft state is analyzed in real time by aircraft systems or ground processes and distress event can be discovered by means of distress criteria logic and trigger and emergency alert.

The logic criteria include analysis of unusual attitudes, unusual altitudes, unusual speeds, potential collision with terrain, total loss of thrust/propulsion on all engines, Mode A squawk codes, etc.

In case of recovery from distress situation ELT-DT can be deactivated remotely or by event. 

ELT-DT can be used as the part of aircraft autonomous distress tracking system which starts to operate in a distress situation by sending emergency messages with accurate positions and stops the operation when aircraft returns to normal flight.

ELT-DT has crash resistant case and is resilient to failures of the aircraft’s electrical power, navigation and communication systems, will continue sending emergency signals in post-flight situations.
